SCA 3D Scan: 101 models
3D scanners capture the geometry of physical objects without contact and produce point clouds or polygon meshes for reverse engineering, inspection, documentation or as a starting point for 3D printing. Handheld structured-light scanners project a pattern onto the object and compute the surface from its distortion; laser scanners measure time of flight or triangulation of a laser beam and cover long ranges. Accuracy, resolution and field of view define the application: desktop scanners for small parts, handheld units for components up to vehicle size, laser scanners for buildings and plants.
In our catalog, scanning is represented by Artec: the handheld Eva and Eva Lite, the Spider, Space Spider and Spider II for fine detail, the wireless Leo with built-in display, the desktop Micro and Micro II for small parts, the Ray and Ray II laser scanners for large objects, plus Point, Point II, Neo, Jet, MHT and L, as well as the Turntable accessory. Eva, Space Spider and Leo are the models most often sold second-hand, usually bundled with a laptop and software.
Three points matter when buying a used scanner. First, licensing: Artec Studio is tied to the device and user, as a subscription or perpetual license, and its transfer to the new owner must be confirmed by the manufacturer or dealer, because a scanner is unusable without licensed software. Second, calibration: a current calibration certificate or factory calibration documents the accuracy, and optics and projector must be free of scratches and contamination. Third, accessories: calibration board, batteries, targets, case, cables and power supply, along with firmware and software versions, should all be part of the inspection. Below you will find the technical data of all 101 scanners in our catalog, together with those currently offered second-hand.
