Artec Ray II — Technical data
Since June 2023 the Artec Ray II has been Artec's long-range laser scanner and the successor to the Ray. According to trade press it was developed together with Leica Geosystems. It measures by time of flight up to 130 m, covers 360° × 300° and captures up to 2 million points per second; Artec states 3D accuracy as 1.9 mm at 10 m. A three-camera system with 36 MP delivers HDR colour images, and a visual inertial system registers scan positions in the field. Rated IP54, it is suitable for outdoor use in dust and rain, for example for buildings, industrial plants and vehicles.
With a used Ray II, what counts is a current calibration certificate, the number of batteries plus charger and the condition of housing and windows. Clarify in advance which Artec partner handles service and calibration. According to Artec, Artec Studio as processing software is not transferable; for bundled programs such as Geomagic Control X, the respective vendor's terms apply. The scanner is re-registered to the buyer once the seller confirms; have Artec check the serial number in advance.
