Creaform HandySCAN BLACK Elite — Technical data

The HandySCAN BLACK Elite is the blue-laser handheld scanner with which Creaform introduced the BLACK series in 2019, and it is now the only model of that range still listed. Formerly described as 11 laser crosses and now as 22 lines plus an extra line, it captures 1.3 million measurements per second at 0.025 mm accuracy and a volumetric accuracy of 0.020 mm + 0.040 mm/m. It weighs 0.94 kg, works at 200 to 450 mm and, unlike the EVO models, has no display on the device.

Because the BLACK Elite has been built for years, used units come with different software: older ones run VXelements, newer ones Creaform.OS. Before buying, clarify which version is licensed, whether an update is possible and whether the manufacturer transfers the licence to the buyer. Calibration plate and an acceptance report to VDI/VDE 2634 part 3 should be available, as well as USB 3.0 cable, power supply and targets. Ask the manufacturer whether an expired CreaCare contract can be renewed. Check laser windows for scratches and the housing for drop damage.
