KEYENCE VL-370 — Technical data

The VL-370 is the measurement unit of an early version of Keyence's 3D Scanner CMM, a stationary structured light system for small to medium parts. The system includes the VL-350 controller and a motorised stage that rotates the workpiece endlessly and tilts it up to 45°, so it is captured all round without re-clamping. Two optics cover a measuring field of Ø 300 × 200 mm and, for details, Ø 70 × 50 mm; measurement uses blue LED light and a 4-megapixel camera. Keyence specifies ±10 µm accuracy and 2 µm repeatability, and the stage carries up to 10 kg. The system is discontinued; the current successor is the VL-870.

Anyone buying a used VL-370 system should take over measurement unit, VL-350 controller, stage, calibration board and the Keyence-specified PC as a matched set. Ask to see the latest calibration certificate and a test measurement on a known part. The software and its add-on modules for CAD comparison or geometric tolerancing are licensed; clarify beforehand whether Keyence will transfer them and provide updates. The environment should stay between 15 and 30 °C and be low in vibration.
