Shining 3D AutoScan Inspec2 — Technical data
The AutoScan Inspec2 is a fully automatic desktop scanner for very small parts found in precision engineering, jewellery, dental technology or electronics. The part sits on a three-axis turntable that moves it into different positions automatically, while two 5 MP cameras and blue LED projection capture the surface. The scan volume is 140 × 90 × 80 mm, and Shining 3D quotes 0.01 mm accuracy at 0.05 mm point distance. A texture module also captures colour. The unit weighs 5 kg, is controlled by UltraScan software and exports STL, OBJ or PLY to inspection or CAD software.
Used, the Inspec2 is compact and mechanically fairly simple, but check the turntable axes for smooth running and play, as they determine repeatability. Calibration plate and holders for small parts must be included. The UltraScan licence is tied to the serial number; clarify its transfer with the manufacturer. Inspect cameras and projector for dust. A test scan of a known reference part shows whether the stated accuracy is still achieved.
