Creaform HandySCAN EVO — Technical data

The HandySCAN EVO is the entry model of the EVO series, Creaform's current generation of self-positioning blue-laser handheld scanners. It projects 22 blue laser lines plus one extra line, captures 1.3 million measurements per second and, according to the manufacturer, reaches 0.025 mm accuracy with a volumetric accuracy of 0.020 mm + 0.040 mm/m. Working distance ranges from 200 to 450 mm, parts from 5 cm to 4 m are recommended and the unit weighs 1.02 kg. New compared with the BLACK series are the on-device touchscreen and real-time calibration.

On a used unit, check the licence for the Creaform.OS measurement software first: it is tied to the device, and whether the manufacturer transfers it, including modules, to a new owner should be confirmed in writing beforehand. The package should include the calibration plate, USB 3.0 cable, power supply and positioning targets. The last acceptance report to VDI/VDE 2634 part 3 shows the calibration status. Check model and generation on the rating plate, inspect laser windows and display for scratches and ask whether a CreaCare contract is still running.
