Creaform HandySCAN PRO — Technical data

The HandySCAN PRO is the current entry model among Creaform's blue-laser handheld scanners and succeeds the SILVER series. It works with 23 blue laser lines and 1.2 million measurements per second and, according to the manufacturer, reaches up to 0.030 mm accuracy with a volumetric accuracy of 0.020 mm + 0.060 mm/m. Working distance is 250 to 450 mm, weight 920 g, with a touch display on the device. It ships with Creaform.OS and the Scan-to-CAD Pro module, so it is aimed at reverse engineering and design.

Used, the PRO is attractive mainly because of the bundled Scan-to-CAD licence; the manufacturer must confirm its transfer to the new owner, otherwise you are left with a scanner without software. Check that calibration plate, targets, USB 3.0 cable and power supply are present and that an acceptance report to VDI/VDE 2634 part 3 is included. Anyone wanting higher accuracy on large parts will also need a MaxSHOT system.
