Artec Neo — Technical data
The Artec Neo is a handheld scanner with blue LED structured light, unveiled in September 2026, intended to combine metrology with free-form scanning. It works either without targets, with targets only at tolerance-critical areas, or fully target-based; with targets Artec specifies 0.025 mm accuracy and 0.025 mm + 0.035 mm/m volumetric accuracy, without targets 0.05 mm. Optics and field of view largely match the Spider II, adding battery operation of 40 to 50 minutes per set and Wi-Fi data transfer. Each unit ships with its own test certificate to VDI/VDE 2634. It is aimed at dimensional inspection of medium-sized parts.
Since the Neo has only been available since autumn 2026, used units are unlikely to appear before 2027. When they do, the remaining warranty, the unit-specific test certificate and the condition of the four supplied batteries are the key points. According to Artec, Artec Studio licences do not pass to the buyer, and re-registering the scanner requires the seller's confirmation. For tethered use the computer needs Thunderbolt; for Wi-Fi use, clarify the network setup in advance.
