Creaform HandySCAN MAX EVO — Technical data

The HandySCAN MAX EVO is a blue-laser handheld scanner for large parts from 1 to 10 m. With 38 blue laser lines it captures 2.25 million measurements per second over a scanning area of up to 1.4 × 1.5 m at 0.45 to 1.60 m distance. According to the manufacturer, accuracy is 0.150 mm and volumetric accuracy 0.150 mm + 0.020 mm/m, supported by integrated photogrammetry. Like the EVO series it has a touchscreen, 12-megapixel camera and real-time calibration; its predecessor was the HandySCAN MAX.

On large parts, accuracy depends heavily on targets and photogrammetry, so a used MAX EVO should come with enough targets, scale bars and the calibration plate. Clarify the Creaform software licence and whether the manufacturer will transfer it to the buyer. An acceptance report to VDI/VDE 2634 part 3 shows the last calibration status. Inspect the housing, display and laser windows of the 419 mm long unit for impact marks and check the cables. Use the rating plate to confirm whether it is a MAX EVO or an older MAX.
