Creaform HandySCAN MAX Elite — Technical data

The HandySCAN MAX Elite was the more accurate variant of the first MAX generation for large workpieces and has since been replaced by the MAX EVO Elite. With 38 blue laser lines and integrated photogrammetry it reaches, according to the brochure, 0.075 mm accuracy and a volumetric accuracy of 0.075 mm + 0.010 mm/m. Working distance ranges from 0.30 to 2.50 m, and parts from 1 to 15 m are recommended. The brochure gives a scanning area of up to 2.0 × 2.4 m and a weight of 1.22 kg.

When buying a used MAX Elite, look at the acceptance report to VDI/VDE 2634 part 3 first, since only that proves Elite accuracy compared with the standard model. The VXelements software requires a licence; agree transferability and a possible migration to Creaform.OS with the manufacturer. Parts up to 15 m need many targets and possibly scale bars, which should be part of the offer, as should the calibration plate and cables. Ask about service and calibration history, check CreaCare options and test lasers and cameras with a trial scan.
