DLP, Digital Light Processing, is a resin process like stereolithography, but instead of scanning a laser spot it projects each layer in one exposure using a DMD projector or, on newer machines, an LED light engine aimed at the resin tank. Layer time is therefore independent of the exposed area. Most systems build bottom-up through a transparent film or membrane (cDLM on Envisiontec machines, P3 on Stratasys Origin with pneumatically controlled separation), pulling the part upward out of the resin. Materials include photopolymers for dental and hearing-aid applications, castable resins for jewelry, tough and high-temperature resins, and elastomers. Parts reach fine resolution, the build area is bounded by projector pixel size, and washing and post-curing are mandatory.
The catalog lists the Envisiontec families Envision One (cDLM, HT, XL), P4K 35 to 90, D4K, Einstein Pro and Xtreme 8K; from 3D Systems the Figure 4 (Standalone, Modular, Production, 135, Jewelry), NextDent 5100 and 300, ProJet 1200 and FabPro 1000; the Stratasys Origin One and Origin Two; and the Raise3D DF2 and DF2+. Frequently seen second-hand are the Envision One cDLM and P4K, the Figure 4 Standalone and the NextDent 5100 from the dental market.
Before buying a used DLP printer, check the operating hours of the light engine or projector (lamp or LED degradation, dead pixels), the condition of the resin tank, separation film and build platform, and the exposure calibration. Material lock-in is common on dental and Figure 4 systems, so software licenses (Envision One RP, 3D Sprint) and material profiles should transfer to the new owner, and wash and cure units belong to the cell. Below you will find the technical data of all 72 DLP models in our catalog, together with those currently offered second-hand.
