3D Systems FabPro 1000 — Technical data

The FabPro 1000 was a compact DLP resin printer from 3D Systems for workshops, design offices and jewellery. A 405 nm projector with 65 µm pixels cures resin in a 125 × 70 × 120 mm build volume, in layers of 30 to 100 µm and at 5.3 to 21 mm per hour depending on material. The standard version processes the FabPro resins Proto GRY for fast prototypes, tough Tough BLK, elastic Elastic BLK and castable JewelCast GRN for jewellery; the dental version, with the same key data, is designed for NextDent resins instead. 3D Systems has discontinued both and committed to support until July 2024.

A used FabPro 1000 only makes sense if resin is still on hand or obtainable, since the support period has ended and the manufacturer's page lists only Proto GRY. Check projector, resin tray and build platform as well as a UV post-curing unit, without which parts do not reach their properties. Anyone wanting to print dental models or surgical guides needs the dental version with its material approvals. Spare parts should not be taken for granted.
