3D Systems ProJet 1000 — Technical data

The ProJet 1000 is a compact 3D Systems office printer using Film Transfer Imaging (FTI), a resin process with full-area exposure at a native 768 × 1024 dpi. The build volume is 171 × 203 × 178 mm, with 0.1 mm layers at around 12.7 mm of build height per hour; details from 0.25 mm and walls from 0.64 mm are possible. It prints only ivory-coloured VisiJet FTI-Ivory from 2 kg cartridges. The machine was aimed at design offices and schools wanting to print concept models without a workshop environment. Post-processing takes place directly on the build platform in a washing unit and a curing unit, without heat. The larger sister model is the ProJet 1500; both are discontinued.

When buying a ProJet 1000, the imaging unit, mechanics and above all the availability of FTI cartridges are decisive – without matching material the printer cannot be used. The washing and curing units should be included, as well as sufficient cleaning agent. As the series has long been discontinued, spare parts are scarce; check print quality on a test part before buying.
