PolyJet (PJP) is the material jetting technology of Stratasys, derived from the Objet platform. Inkjet heads deposit droplets of liquid photopolymer onto the build tray layer by layer, and a UV lamp travelling alongside cures each layer immediately. A gel-like support material is printed at the same time and later removed by water jet or in an alkaline bath. Because several materials can be combined in one job, hardness, transparency and color can be blended within a single part; the J series prints in full color including textures. Materials are acrylic photopolymers from rigid (Vero) through clear (VeroClear) to rubber-like (Agilus, Tango), plus Digital ABS and dental and medical resins. Parts feature thin layers and smooth surfaces but are sensitive to UV light and heat, making them less suitable than FDM or SLS for functional parts under sustained load.
The catalog includes the Objet24, Objet30 and Eden lines, the Objet260, Objet350 and Objet500 Connex, the J series J35, J55, J750, J826 and J850 including Digital Anatomy, and the dental systems J5 and J3 DentaJet. On the used market the Objet30, Objet260 and Objet500 Connex are common, as is the first-generation J750.
For a used PolyJet printer the print heads are the central issue: they are wear parts with a limited service life, and their age and condition determine print quality. Also inspect the UV lamps, roller, wiper and material lines, check the expiry dates of any remaining cartridges, the license status of the GrabCAD Print software and the tie-in to chipped Stratasys cartridges. A support removal system (water jet) is part of the cell. Below you will find the technical data of all 58 PolyJet models in our catalog, together with those currently offered second-hand.
