Stratasys J4100 — Technical data

The J4100 was Stratasys' large-format PolyJet system. With a build volume of 1,000 × 800 × 500 mm it produces large prototypes and design models in one piece or many single parts in one job. It prints at 27–55 µm layers from ten model materials in the Vero, VeroClear, Agilus30 and Digital ABS Plus families, supported by water-jet-removable SUP705. The machine weighs 2.2 tonnes on a footprint of nearly 2 × 2.9 m. Stratasys has removed the J4100 from its product catalogue, but the spec sheet is still available.

With a used J4100, print heads and their hours are the biggest cost factor, followed by UV lamps, wiper and waste system. A complete service history matters, as does a statement on how long Stratasys will provide service and spare parts for the discontinued model. Moving a 2.2 t machine requires a specialist carrier and recalibration on site. Also check material availability, GrabCAD access and whether the associated PC still runs an outdated operating system.
