MJP, MultiJet Printing, is the material jetting technology of 3D Systems. Piezo print heads with several hundred nozzles deposit droplets of UV-curable acrylic resin (VisiJet), and a UV lamp cures each layer. The support material is a wax that is afterwards melted out completely in a warming oven or steam bath, which frees even fine internal channels and undercuts. The wax variants (MJP 2500 W, MJP 300W, ProJet CPX) print entirely in casting wax for investment casting of jewelry and dental parts. Materials include rigid, clear, elastomeric and high-temperature photopolymers as well as RealWax. Parts stand out for smooth surfaces, thin layers and tight dimensional accuracy, but like all photopolymers they are sensitive to UV light and heat.
The catalog covers the 3D Systems ProJet HD, SD, CPX and DP 3000, ProJet 3510 and 3500, MJP 3600, MJP 2500 (Plus, IC, W), MJP 5600 and 5500X and MJP 300W, plus the KEYENCE AGILISTA-3200W, which uses a water-soluble support material. Frequently available second-hand are the ProJet 3510 and 3500 HD, the MJP 2500 Plus and the MJP 3600.
For a used MJP machine the print heads are the decisive wear item: nozzle dropouts can partly be compensated, but a head replacement is a major job, so insist on a test print, a nozzle check report and the age of the heads. Also inspect the UV lamp, planarizer, wiper and material lines, check the shelf life of any cartridges included, the tie-in to chipped VisiJet material, the license status of 3D Sprint, and accessories such as the ProJet Finisher or MJP EasyClean for melting out the support wax. Below you will find the technical data of all 27 MJP models in our catalog, together with those currently offered second-hand.
