3D Systems ProJet MJP 5500X — Technical data

The ProJet 5500X is a large-format multi-material printer from 3D Systems' MultiJet range, presented at EuroMold at the end of 2013. It blends rigid and elastomeric VisiJet materials during printing, so a single part can contain areas of different hardness and transparency – for example over-moulded grips, rubber seals or living hinges. According to the trade press, build volume is 533 × 381 × 300 mm with 32 µm (HD) or 29 µm (UHD) layers. The current MJP 5600 covers a similar format; the 5500X is discontinued.

Anyone offered a used 5500X should first clarify materials, as the first-generation composites may no longer be available. Print head condition, a traceable service history and whether 3D Systems still supports the model also matter. Since reliable manufacturer data on dimensions and power connection is lacking, ask the seller for these.
