3D Systems ProJet SD 3000 — Technical data

The ProJet SD 3000 is the simpler version of the 3D Systems ProJet 3000 platform. It prints at 328 × 328 × 606 dpi on the full 298 × 185 × 203 mm build volume and does without the high-resolution modes of the HD models. Build materials are VisiJet EX200 in natural and VisiJet SR200 in blue, natural or grey, supported by wax (S100). This makes it suitable for concept and presentation models where throughput matters more than the finest detail. Like the other models in the series it runs on a single-phase 15 A supply and is discontinued.

For buyers the SD 3000 is mainly of interest as a low-cost entry into material jetting. Check print head and nozzles, UV curing and the material system: the cartridges must match the machine and still be available. Higher resolutions are offered only by the HD models, so an SD 3000 should not be priced like an HD unit. Melting out the support wax requires an oven, which is often traded separately.
