3D Systems ProJet MJP 3600 — Technical data
The ProJet MJP 3600 is the standard version of the plastic MultiJet printer for fine prototypes, tooling inserts and casting patterns. It prints in three modes: HD with 32 µm layers on 298 × 185 × 203 mm, UHD at 29 µm and XHD at 16 µm – although the two fine modes only use a width of 203 mm. According to the data sheet, that is the only difference from the 3600 Max, which uses almost the full width in fine modes as well. Seven VisiJet M3 materials are available, including castable M3 Procast, supported with S300 wax. Its predecessor in the same housing is the ProJet 3500 range; the 3600 is discontinued.
The standard 3600 is enough if most printing is done in HD or the fine modes are only needed for small parts. Anyone wanting to make many detailed parts per job in XHD should look for a Max. When buying, check the rating plate, print head condition, print hours, material heating and the finisher for wax removal. On 200–240 V the external transformer from the country kit is needed. Ask in advance whether M3 material and spare parts are still available.
