3D Systems ProJet DP 3000 — Technical data

The ProJet DP 3000 is the dental version of the ProJet 3000 platform. 3D Systems introduced it for dental labs in early 2008: it prints wax-ups in VisiJet DP200 that burn out almost without residue and can be cast or pressed conventionally. Typical work includes crowns, bridges, partial frameworks and press-over full-contour units. HD mode offers 298 × 185 × 203 mm, UHD mode 203 × 178 × 152 mm, both at 328 × 328 × 606 dpi; stacking fits hundreds of units into one job. Data comes from open scanners in the lab or from outside. The DP 3000 is discontinued.

For a lab buying a used DP 3000, the material matters as much as the print head: DP200 must be obtainable, otherwise the machine is of little use. Also check the nozzle pattern, UV lamp and burnout behaviour with a test job. As the software dates from the Windows XP era, test the link to your own CAD chain. Service for this generation is now mostly offered by independent engineers.
