BigRep: 15 models

BigRep is a Berlin-based manufacturer of large-format FFF printers for parts at the scale of furniture, molds and vehicle components. The company's name is tied to the ONE, a printer offering a one cubic meter build volume that was produced in the ONE.3, ONE.4 and ONE.5X generations. It was joined by the enclosed STUDIO in G1 and G2 versions, the PRO featuring a temperature-controlled chamber and metering extruder for production use, the EDGE for high-temperature polymers, and the more recent VIIO 250, ALTRA 280 and IPSO 105. The DRYCON drying cabinet completes the range. Users are found in automotive and aerospace, pattern and mold making, architecture, design and research.

ONE.3, ONE.4 and STUDIO G2 dominate the secondary market because these generations were installed in larger numbers at service bureaus, universities and development departments. The ONE was revised several times, notably in extruders and control electronics, so the exact build state determines spare part compatibility. The EDGE was delivered in small numbers; the high-temperature role is now covered by the ALTRA 280.

When buying a used BigRep machine, inspect the extruders (Power Extruder, ACE, MXT), nozzles, drive belts and the large print bed including its leveling. Materials are open: BigRep sells its own filament on large spools, third-party filament can be used, and the BLADE slicer is freely available. Logistics are a practical concern: the ONE requires freight transport, door widths and ceiling height must be checked, and the electrical requirements of the heated PRO and ALTRA 280 should be verified against the intended site.
