BigRep STUDIO G1 — Technical data
The first-generation BigRep STUDIO, presented at the end of 2016, was the manufacturer's entry into enclosed large-format printers. At 500 × 1,000 × 500 mm it offers about a quarter of the ONE's volume, but with a closed print chamber that reduces warping of large parts. In the Advanced version it works with two extruders and 0.6 mm nozzles, layers from 0.1 to 0.4 mm and a heated bed up to 75 °C. It was aimed at agencies, architects, universities and development departments wanting to print large models in an office setting. The STUDIO G2 followed in 2019 with an insulated chamber, a hotter bed and the BLADE slicer; the first generation is no longer built.
Used first-generation STUDIO units are now usually seven years old or more. Check the number of extruders, the condition of the hot ends and heated bed, and bearings and belts. The bed only reaches 75 °C, which limits engineering plastics. Since BigRep has moved its software to BLADE, clarify which slicer profiles and firmware are still maintained for this model.
