BigRep ONE.3 — Technical data
The BigRep ONE.3 is the third generation of the large-format FFF printer that made the Berlin manufacturer BigRep known. In an open frame without enclosure it builds parts up to 1,005 × 1,005 × 1,005 mm, roughly one cubic metre, from 2.85 mm filament. Two modular print heads – a standard extruder with a 1 mm nozzle and a Power Extruder with nozzles from 0.6 to 2 mm – allow printing with two materials, for example with water-soluble PVA as support. The ONE.3 was used for design models, furniture prototypes, casting patterns and full-size fixtures. Its successor is the ONE.4 with a new gantry and the PEX extruder; the ONE.3 is no longer offered.
When buying a used ONE.3, the mechanics matter most: linear guides, belts and the flatness of the large heated bed determine dimensional accuracy. Check the extruders for worn feed wheels and clogged hot ends. Because the frame is open, materials with high shrinkage are only partly suitable. At around 460 kg and more than 2 m deep, transport needs planning. Clarify spare parts and firmware status for this generation with BigRep or a reseller beforehand.
