BigRep DRYCON — Technical data

The BigRep DRYCON is an industrial filament dry cabinet that also serves as an annealing oven for printed parts. Two independently controlled chambers – the upper up to 120 °C, the lower up to 180 °C – hold up to 24 small or eight 8 kg spools, depending on spool size. Active air exchange of 200 m³/h removes humid air, and control is via a Siemens LOGO!. Through four filament outlets the ALTRA 280 and IPSO 105 can be fed directly from the cabinet, so hygroscopic materials such as PC, PA or PEKK reach the nozzle dry. The lower chamber can anneal parts at the same time to improve dimensional accuracy and heat resistance.

Used, the DRYCON is mainly of interest to operators of the two high-temperature printers. Check heating and temperature control of both chambers, fans and seals, and the filament feed-throughs. A log or a test drying run shows whether set temperatures are held. At 390 kg and almost 1.92 m tall, the cabinet needs a level location; electrically, a single-phase 12 A supply is sufficient.
