BigRep STUDIO G2 — Technical data
The BigRep STUDIO G2 is BigRep's compact, fully enclosed large-format printer and came onto the market in May 2019. The insulated build chamber holds 1,000 × 500 × 500 mm, i.e. 250 litres; two extruders with 0.6 or 1.0 mm nozzles reach up to 280 °C and the heated bed 100 °C. A temperature-controlled filament chamber takes two spools of up to 8 kg each. Besides PLA and PETG, this allows ASA, PA6/66 and carbon-fibre-filled filaments, for example for fixtures, gauges, casting patterns and prototypes. Compared with the first STUDIO generation, bed, enclosure and software (BLADE, CONNECT) have been substantially revised; the G2 is still in the range.
On the used market there are G2 units from several production years with different extruder fittings – early machines with ruby nozzles, newer ones with SDX extruders. Ask for serial number, year of manufacture and extruder type. With fibre-filled materials, check nozzles and feeders for wear, as well as the polyimide print surface. A BigRep CONNECT account should be transferable. For transport, plan for 550 to 635 kg depending on the source, and a 16 A power supply.
