BigRep ONE — Technical data
The BigRep ONE was the Berlin manufacturer's first printer and was presented in February 2014, a few weeks after the company was founded. The trade press later called it a beta version. An open aluminium frame with machined parts carries two print heads above a 2.3 kW heated table, and the build volume measures 1,147 × 1,000 × 1,188 mm. Layers range from 0.1 to 1 mm, and a milling head was announced as an option. The printer weighed about 200 kg, with a further 40 kg for the table. The ONE.2 followed as early as November 2014.
A unit from this first series is now more of an enthusiast's or tinkerer's object than a production machine. Ask for the rating plate and invoice to prove that it really is the 2014 ONE, as listings often just say 'BigRep ONE'. Check the frame for distortion and loose connectors, the linear guides for play and wear marks, and the heated table for even heating. Clarify with BigRep whether parts or updates are still available for the print heads, electronics and firmware of this generation; otherwise the only option is conversion with third-party or successor parts.
