BigRep ALTRA 670 — Technical data
The BigRep ALTRA 670 is an enclosed high-temperature FFF printer that the Berlin-based manufacturer announced in October 2026. It takes over the platform of the ALTRA 280 with servo drives, ball screws and an industrial controller, but at 700 × 1,200 × 800 mm it offers well over twice the volume, around 670 litres. The build chamber and print bed are heated to up to 140 °C, and two water-cooled DSX extruders reach 450 °C and process 1.75 mm filament at up to 250 g/h. The machine is designed for polycarbonate and other engineering plastics; BigRep is targeting aerospace and defence among others. The printer can be ordered, with first deliveries planned for the end of the first quarter.
Used ALTRA 670 units will not be available for the time being; units offered are likely to be demonstration or early machines. Software level, warranty transfer and a manufacturer service commitment then matter most. At around 1.9 tonnes and with three-phase 400/480 V at 32 A, the system needs a load-bearing floor and a planned delivery route. Later on, check the extruders and diamond nozzles, the water cooling, the air-cleaning filters and the seals of the dry chamber.
