Artec: 17 models
Artec 3D, based in Luxembourg, develops and manufactures 3D scanners using structured light, laser and LiDAR, together with the Artec Studio capture and processing software. The Eva and Eva Lite handheld scanners cover medium-sized objects, Spider, Space Spider and Spider II resolve small parts in fine detail, Leo works wirelessly using its own onboard computer and display, Micro and Micro II are desktop scanners featuring automated turntables for small components, Ray and Ray II are LiDAR units for large objects and buildings, and Point is a newer handheld scanner aimed at metrology tasks. MHT and L are early, discontinued models. Applications include reverse engineering, quality inspection, medical and orthopedic work, heritage documentation and visualization.
Eva, Space Spider and Leo are the models most often traded second-hand, typically as bundles including the case, calibration board, battery and power supply. Eva and Space Spider have been produced largely unchanged for many years and remain in the lineup; Spider was superseded by Space Spider and then Spider II, Micro by Micro II and Ray by Ray II.
Software is the decisive point in a used purchase: Artec Studio is sold as a subscription or perpetual license tied to the original buyer and cannot simply be transferred to a new owner; without a valid or newly purchased license the scanner cannot be operated. Before buying, confirm through Artec or an authorized reseller that the device can be registered to the new owner. Beyond that, check calibration status, the condition of lenses and lighting, battery life on the Leo, cables and included accessories. Eva and Spider require a capable Windows PC equipped with a dedicated graphics card. Below you will find the technical data of all 17 Artec models in our catalog, and which of them are currently available used.
