Artec MHT — Technical data

The Artec MHT was one of Artec's first handheld colour scanners and the direct predecessor of the Eva. It captures objects up to about one metre across from 0.45 to 1 m away, with point accuracy of up to 0.1 mm and 0.5 mm resolution, and records colour with a 1.3 MP camera. At up to 15 frames per second it could also record moving scenes and was used in film production, among other things, to scan actors. The scanner is tethered to a power supply and a computer. Artec replaced it with the Eva and Spider, and it has not been available for years.

Today an MHT is mainly of interest for teaching, hobby use or as a backup unit. Before buying, check whether the current Artec Studio version still recognises the device and on which operating system it runs reliably. According to Artec, the buyer has to purchase a licence themselves in any case. Spare parts and repairs are hard to come by, so ask for a working test scan with texture and make sure all accessories are included.
