Concept Laser: 10 models
Concept Laser was a machine builder from Lichtenfels in Upper Franconia, Germany, that marketed its laser powder bed fusion process under the trademark LaserCUSING. The range spanned the compact Mlab cusing for dental, jewelry and research, offered in R variants for reactive alloys and as the 200R featuring higher laser power, the mid-sized M1 cusing and M2 cusing, the M3 linear and the large-format X LINE 1000R. The M2 cusing was available as a single-laser or Multilaser version. Peripherals such as the QM Powder S and X LINE PCG supported powder handling. Following its acquisition in 2016 the company became part of GE, first as GE Additive and since 2024 under the Colibrium Additive name.
Second-hand, the M2 cusing and Mlab cusing are the most frequently listed models, followed by the M1 cusing; the X LINE 1000R and M3 linear are rare. All machines sold under the Concept Laser name are discontinued. The M2 cusing lives on as the M2 Series 5, and the X LINE 1000R was replaced by the X Line 2000R, both now under Colibrium Additive.
Buyers should establish the year of manufacture and the control generation, because spare parts and software versions are not interchangeable across all series; parts and service now come from Colibrium Additive or specialized independent providers. Parameter sets are editable and powder is not tied to the manufacturer. Inspection points are laser hours, optics and protective glass, filters, gas recirculation and the sealing of the process chamber including its glove ports, plus cleaning status on machines that have run titanium or aluminum. The site needs argon or nitrogen, compressed air, a 400 V three-phase supply and an ATEX-compliant powder area. Below you will find the technical data of all 10 Concept Laser models in our catalog, and which of them are currently available used.
