Concept Laser M2 cusing — Technical data
The M2 cusing is Concept Laser's mid-size powder bed system for metal parts in tool making, medical technology, aerospace and research. A 400 W fibre laser, optionally 200 W, exposes a 250 × 250 × 280 mm build envelope at layer thicknesses of 20 to 80 µm; a variable focus was available as an option. Besides stainless and tool steels it processes aluminium, titanium, nickel and cobalt-chromium alloys, with process chamber and filter running under nitrogen or argon. The twin-laser version is called M2 cusing Multilaser. The machine was replaced by the M2 Series 5, which Colibrium Additive sells today.
Because the M2 cusing was built over several generations, year of manufacture, laser power and software version should be documented exactly. Key points are laser hours, the condition of scanner, recoater and protective glass, and the separate filter module, which is flooded before it is changed. When aluminium or titanium has been processed, explosion-protected extraction and controlled powder handling are part of the setup. The site needs three-phase power, oil-free compressed air and inert gas; clarify service and spare parts with Colibrium Additive or an independent provider beforehand.
