Concept Laser X LINE 1000R — Technical data

When it was introduced in 2012, the X line 1000R was, according to Concept Laser, the powder bed system with the largest build envelope on the market. A 1 kW fibre laser exposes 630 × 400 × 500 mm, layer thickness ranges from 30 to 200 µm, and the build platform can be preheated to 200 °C. A rotating mechanism alternates between two build modules, so one can be unpacked while the other is building. It was developed for large aluminium and titanium parts in the automotive and aerospace industries, with optics created together with Fraunhofer ILT. It was replaced by the X Line 2000R with two lasers and a larger build envelope.

A used X line 1000R is a major project: about 8 t of weight, dimensions of more than 4 × 3 m and a 63 A connection call for a foundation, crane and electrical planning. A sieving station and powder silo are mandatory peripherals. Decisive factors are laser hours, the condition of scanner and heating, both build modules, and filter and inert gas control. As the machine is discontinued, get binding commitments on spare parts and service from Colibrium Additive or third parties before buying.
