ExOne: 10 models
ExOne develops binder jetting systems from its headquarters in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, and its European site in Gersthofen near Augsburg, Germany. Desktop Metal acquired the company in 2021 and was itself taken over by Nano Dimension in 2025. In the binder jetting process a recoater spreads powder, a print head deposits a liquid binder into each layer, and the result is a green part that is cured, depowdered and, for metals, sintered in a furnace. ExOne runs two product families: sand and ceramic printers (S-Print, S-Max) for casting moulds and cores, and metal systems such as the InnoventX and X1 25Pro. Our catalog lists the two metal systems under ExOne, while the sand printers appear under Desktop Metal. Foundries, tool and mould makers, research institutes and producers of small metal series are the typical operators.
Used binder jetting machines are rarer than laser powder bed systems. The InnoventX is positioned as a laboratory and development platform, the X1 25Pro as a production unit for stainless steel, tool steel and further powders; the larger X160Pro is listed in our catalog under Desktop Metal. Because of the ownership changes, current product status and service coverage should be confirmed with the vendor before purchase.
Key checkpoints for a used ExOne system are the condition of the piezo print head and binder supply, the history of powders processed (cross-contamination when switching materials), continued availability of binder and cleaning fluids, and the full process chain: curing oven, depowdering station and sintering furnace are not part of the printer but are indispensable for usable parts. Software version, control PC and any service agreements should be documented and handed over. Below you will find the technical data of both ExOne models in our catalog, together with the ones currently offered used.
