ExOne M-Print — Technical data
The M-Print is the large metal binder jetting printer of ExOne's earlier generation and shares its base machine with the S-Print sand printer. In an 800 × 500 × 400 mm build volume the printhead bonds metal powder, mainly 420 stainless steel, into green parts that are then cured and sintered or infiltrated. The manufacturer quotes about one minute per layer, with layers from 150 µm. At 3,500 kg the machine is heavy and needs three-phase power. The later X1 160Pro, today the X160Pro, offers the same build volume.
Used, the M-Print is mainly of interest for larger metal parts in small batches and for tooling inserts. Check printhead and nozzle pattern, recoater, heater, binder supply and powder preparation. Without curing and sintering or infiltration furnaces the machine is only half usable, so clarify the peripherals too. Powder operation requires extraction and explosion protection. Spare parts and service have been uncertain since the sale of the metal business and must be checked in advance.
