ExOne S-Print — Technical data
For many years the S-Print was ExOne's compact sand printer for foundries, pattern makers and research. A printhead bonds silica sand layer by layer with furan or phenolic resin into cores and moulds without any pattern. The common second generation offers an 800 × 500 × 400 mm job box, layers of 0.28 to 0.5 mm depending on grain size and an in-plane resolution of 0.1 mm. The first version from 2005 was slightly smaller at 750 × 380 × 400 mm. Today ExOne offers the S-Print Pro as its entry model.
With a used S-Print, first clarify which generation and binder system it has, as furan and phenolic need their own activators, cleaners and heating. After that, printhead and nozzle pattern, cleaning station, recoater, sand mixer and job box matter. Operation requires extraction, an unpacking station and three-phase power. Spare parts and service now come from ExOne in Gersthofen; ask about availability for older units beforehand and run a test print with your own sand.
