ExOne Innovent — Technical data
The Innovent is the small metal binder jetting printer that ExOne presented in early 2015 for universities, research and material development. Its 160 × 65 × 65 mm build volume suits test specimens and small parts, with layers from 50 µm and 30 to 60 seconds per layer. It runs on single-phase power, weighs 320 kg and processes tungsten, Inconel 625 and glass as well as stainless steel and bronze. In 2018 the Innovent+ followed with improved powder compaction, which Desktop Metal later continued as the InnoventX.
Used, the Innovent is an affordable way to get to know binder jetting in the lab or to qualify powders. Check printhead and binder lines, the two recoater variants for free-flowing and poorly flowing powders, control computer and software. Usable parts also require curing and sintering furnaces, which are often sold separately. Since ExOne has sold its metal business, secure spare printheads and binder in advance and pay attention to powder extraction.
