BCN3D: 8 models
BCN3D Technologies is a Spanish manufacturer from the Barcelona area that originated in a university research environment before becoming an independent company. The defining feature of its printers is IDEX, two independently moving print heads that allow dual-material printing as well as duplication and mirror modes, producing two parts in a single job. The lineup consists of the Sigma and Sigmax (R19 generation), their successor Sigma D25, the enclosed Epsilon W27 and W50 for engineering plastics, and the industrial Omega I60 featuring a heated chamber; the Smart Cabinet dries and stores filament and provides backup power. Typical users are design departments, jig and fixture makers, education and service bureaus.
The used market mainly offers Sigma R19, Sigmax R19 and Epsilon W50, as these were deployed in large numbers in offices and workshops. Sigma and Sigmax R19 are discontinued and were replaced by the Sigma D25 and the Epsilon series; the Omega I60 is the current top-of-range model and still rare second-hand.
BCN3D follows an open material approach: third-party filaments can be used without unlocking anything, the BCN3D Stratos slicer is free, and cloud connectivity is optional, so no license issue complicates a used purchase. Check the hotends (replaceable as complete units), extruder drives, Bowden tubes, the glass build plate and its coating, and on Epsilon and Omega the door seals and chamber heating. Power comes from a standard 230 V outlet; the Omega I60 and Smart Cabinet need a permanent location because of their weight and size. Below you will find the technical data of all 8 BCN3D models in our catalog, and which of them are currently available used.
