BCN3D Epsilon W27 — Technical data
The BCN3D Epsilon W27 is the smaller version of BCN3D's enclosed IDEX printers and appeared in September 2020. It shares technology and footprint with the W50 but offers only 220 mm build height over a 420 × 300 mm area and, at 750 mm overall height, also suits lab and office benches. Two independent print heads with hot ends up to 300 °C, a bed up to 120 °C, a passively heated chamber and HEPA H13 filtration allow ABS, PP and PA as well as PLA and PET-G, fibre-filled materials with the Hotend X and metal filament from BASF Forward AM with the Hotend M. The Epsilon series remains in the range, now as G2.
Used W27 units are common and often found in a bundle with the Smart Cabinet. Check which hot ends (standard, X, M) are included, as fibre-filled materials wear standard hot ends quickly. Filter condition, build plate, calibration and firmware level matter, as does release of the BCN3D Cloud account. For metal parts, external debinding and sintering costs come on top. After the takeover by Quantum, it is worth asking about service and spare parts.
