WASP 4070 ZX — Technical data
The WASP 4070 ZX appeared at formnext 2021 as the filament model of the reorganised 4070 family, which WASP derived from the Industrial X. It keeps the frame and the Ø 400 × 700 mm build volume but carries the ZENX dual-hotend head with all-metal dual gears for 1.75 mm filament up to 350 °C. The chamber heats to 70 °C and the bed to 120 °C; build plates are held by vacuum and levelling runs automatically using a measurement mesh. WASP quotes up to 200 mm/s, a HEPA filter, and Wi-Fi, LAN and USB. Sister models are the 4070 FX for flexible materials and the 4070 HDP for pellets.
On a used 4070 ZX, the vacuum hold of the build plate should be tight: pump audible, plate firm, no error at print start. Each hotend deserves its own test print, ideally with carbon-fibre polyamide, which stresses the 0.7 mm steel nozzles and gears. The HEPA filter is a consumable, so ask when it was last changed. The machine is 2.15 m tall and weighs 95 kg; check ceiling height and door width beforehand. As a current model, the ZX continues to be supplied with parts by WASP and dealers.
