WASP 2040 PRO — Technical data
The Delta WASP 2040 PRO is the small delta printer from Italian manufacturer WASP, based in Massa Lombarda, and has been in the range since July 2019. The product page shows the 2040 Turbo2 as its forerunner, although WASP has never formally declared a succession. The cylindrical build volume measures Ø 200 × 400 mm. It prints 1.75 mm filament through the Spitfire X Bowden extruder with a multi-temperature cartridge rated to 350 °C; WASP quotes up to 500 mm/s printing and 800 mm/s travel speed. The aluminium bed heats to 110 °C, but there is no heated chamber. With the Clay Kit 3.0 the PRO can be converted for ceramics.
When buying used, look first at the three delta arms: the joints should have no play and the steel-reinforced belts no cracks or frayed edges. The Bowden tube hangs from a rubber suspension that tires over the years. Ask to see the self-calibration, the filament sensor and a test print in ABS so that cartridge and bed run under load. Check whether a Clay Kit, spare nozzles and the Simplify3D licence are included. As the PRO is still in production, wear parts remain available directly from WASP.
