WASP 2040 Industrial 4.0 — Technical data

The Delta WASP 2040 Industrial 4.0 belongs to WASP's Industrial 4.0 line presented at the end of 2018, which also included the 4070 and 3MT. Compared with the basic 2040, it gained a closed, insulated enclosure with an actively heated chamber up to 80 °C, a bed heated to 120 °C, a touchscreen, camera and Wi-Fi. The build volume is Ø 200 × 400 mm. The Spitfire extruder is standard; the Zen Dual with two nozzles or the Flex for soft materials were options, and the machine recognises the head itself. Its successor was the 2040 Industrial X.

Anyone buying a used 2040 Industrial 4.0 should ask which extruders and cartridges come with it, as these determine the material range. Heat the chamber to 80 °C and watch whether the fans and door sensor work properly. The camera and Wi-Fi module should still function with the installed firmware. On the delta arms, check the joints for play and the belts for hardening caused by heat. The model is no longer offered, so ask WASP or a dealer about cartridges and electronic parts beforehand.
