Stratasys Objet500 Connex3 — Technical data
Stratasys introduced the Objet500 Connex3 in January 2014 as a colour multi-material printer with the then-new triple-jetting technology; it is the oldest model of the numbered Connex range. It blends three base materials, such as VeroCyan, VeroMagenta and VeroYellow, into hundreds of shades and, according to the data sheet, combines up to 82 material properties in one part – rigid, rubber-like, transparent and coloured. At 490 × 390 × 200 mm it has the family's largest build plate; compared with the Objet350 Connex3, larger models or more parts per job fit on it, while machine size and weight are the same. The Connex1 and Connex2 in the same housing followed later as simpler tiers without colour. Typical uses are large coloured product models, medical models and prototypes with rubber and clear zones. Sold until the end of 2021.
As the oldest Connex3 model, an Objet500 may have many years of service behind it; print-head history, a colour test print and lamp hours are therefore especially important. Add material cabinet, pumps and waste system. Stratasys still offers service contracts; the machine needs a room at 18–25 °C.
