SAF Selective Absorption Fusion: 1 models

SAF, Selective Absorption Fusion, is the polymer powder bed process of Stratasys, introduced on the H350. A recoater spreads polyamide powder, industrial piezoelectric print heads deposit an infrared-absorbing fluid (HAF) onto the part areas, and an infrared lamp passes over the entire bed so that only the wetted regions fuse. A distinctive feature is the Big Wave powder handling, which pushes a wave of powder across the build plane ahead of the lamp to keep the bed thermally uniform. The principle resembles HP Multi Jet Fusion but works without a detailing agent and relies on a different print head technology. Materials are PA 12 and PA 11; parts are dense, dimensionally stable and suitable for series production, with a grey surface.

The Stratasys H350 is the only model of this process in our catalog. Second-hand offers have been rare so far, as the machine has only been on the market for a few years.

When buying used, check the print heads (a counted wear item), lamp hours, the condition of recoater and build chamber, the powder peripherals for unpacking and sieving, the lock-in to Stratasys powder and HAF, the GrabCAD Print software license, and the utilities for power, compressed air and extraction. Below you will find the technical data of the SAF model in our catalog and whether it is currently offered second-hand.
