Matsuura: 1 models

Matsuura Machinery, based in Fukui, Japan, is a machine tool builder whose LUMEX range combines metal laser sintering (DMLS) with high-speed milling in a single machine. After a set number of powder layers has been melted, a spindle mills the contours of those layers to final dimensions, which allows internal surfaces, undercuts and cooling channels to be machined while they are still accessible. Our catalog lists the LUMEX Avance-25; a larger Avance-60 also exists. Typical materials are tool steels and maraging steel for injection and die-casting moulds with conformal cooling, and typical users are mould makers and suppliers in automotive and electronics.

Used LUMEX machines appear only occasionally, usually from tool shops where they ran as mould-making cells. Since the machine is a combination of a laser sintering system and a milling centre, comparing it with pure powder bed systems is of limited value: it replaces several process steps but requires machine-tool infrastructure and operators with milling experience.

When buying a used LUMEX Avance-25, review the laser source and its operating hours, spindle hours and spindle condition, axis accuracy, the tool changer, powder handling with extraction and the nitrogen supply, and the control and CAM software including licence transfer. Material parameters are qualified by the manufacturer; third-party powders should be agreed with the service provider. Service and spare parts run through the Matsuura machine tool organisation and its European representatives. Below you will find the technical data of the single Matsuura model in our catalog, together with its current used availability.
