Matsuura LUMEX Avance-60 — Technical data

The LUMEX Avance-60 is Matsuura's large hybrid system and was presented at the DMS show in Tokyo in June 2016. Like the Avance-25 it builds metal parts in a powder bed and mills them in between with a spindle running at 45,000 rpm, but on an area of 600 × 600 mm with 500 mm build height. Workpieces may weigh up to 1,300 kg. A 1 kW fibre laser with a build rate of 35 cm³ per hour is standard, alternatively a 500 W laser with 16 cm³ per hour. Matsuura aimed it at larger mould inserts and parts for aerospace and the automotive industry.

Used Avance-60 machines are rare and call for an inspection on site. Besides laser hours, the running time of the milling spindle, the tool holders and the axes with 610 mm travel and fast rapid traverse all matter. A full build volume ties up much powder, so check powder feed and sieving and which materials were run last. Matsuura does not publish machine weight or connection values; ask for them, as well as for the licence status of the CAM software. Dismantling and recommissioning usually need a Matsuura engineer.
