German RepRap X400 — Technical data
The X400 was a widespread model from German RepRap of Feldkirchen near Munich and was built over several generations. The open aluminium frame encloses roughly 390 × 400 × 320 mm of build volume, and printing is done with the in-house DD3 direct-drive extruder and all-metal hot end rated to 290 °C. The third generation, X400 PRO V3, brought two extruders as standard in 2016, an improved heated bed and a stiffer Y axis; the fourth generation of 2017 added automatic bed levelling, filament monitoring and an industrial PC with network control. The company has been called innovatiQ since 2021.
When buying used, first identify the generation, as electronics, extruders and controls differ widely; many older units were retrofitted with DD3 heads or a double bearing. innovatiQ ceased business operations in June 2026, and service and spare parts are now with Schichtarbeit 3D; check their availability for the generation in question before buying. Check belts and idler pulleys, heated bed, hot ends and controller. If you value open software and standard parts, many components can be replaced with E3D or generic parts.
