Colibrium Additive: 3 models
Colibrium Additive has been the name of GE Aerospace's additive manufacturing business since 2024. It was previously known as GE Additive and brought together the acquisitions of Concept Laser (Lichtenfels, Germany) and Arcam (Sweden). Laser powder bed fusion machines continue to be developed and built in Lichtenfels, while the Arcam electron beam melting systems form a separate branch. Our catalog lists the three current LPBF models: the M2 Series 5, the evolution of the M2 cusing, equipped with two lasers; the modular M Line for serial production, which separates the process station from powder handling; and the large-format X Line 2000R, also dual-laser, offering a very large build envelope. Main customers are aerospace, medical, dental and automotive.
Because these machines are relatively young, they remain rare on the secondary market; the M2 Series 5 is the most likely to appear, usually from service bureaus or qualification projects. The predecessor generations sold under the Concept Laser name are far more common and are covered on their own page. All three series are current, and no successor has been announced.
A used purchase starts with the software and service situation: machine control, build processor and quality modules are tied to the system, service contracts do not transfer automatically, and parameter sets for your own materials must either come along or be developed anew; powder itself can be sourced from any supplier. Inspect laser hours and optics, protective glass, the filter system and gas recirculation, and the history of reactive materials such as titanium or aluminum. Operation requires argon or nitrogen, compressed air, a 400 V three-phase supply and an ATEX-rated powder room; for the M Line and X Line 2000R, footprint, floor loading and transport routes are substantial. Below you will find the technical data of all 3 Colibrium Additive models in our catalog, and which of them are currently available used.
