The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is the research center of the Federal Republic of Germany for aeronautics and space research. Its research and development activities in aviation, space, energy, transport and security are integrated into national and international cooperations. Furthermore, the DLR is responsible on behalf of the Federal Government for planning and implementing German space activities. In addition, two project management agencies for research promotion are located at the DLR.
