ZEISS ATOS Compact Scan — Technical data

The ATOS Compact Scan is the mobile structured light sensor in the ATOS range and has appeared in several generations of the same name. The current version comes as 8M and 12M with 8 and 12 million points per scan respectively. Measuring volumes are changed via camera frames: a small-object frame with MV45 to MV170, frame 300 with MV170 to MV600 and frame 500 with MV700 and MV1200. The sensor weighs around 4 kg, measures 360 × 150 × 240 mm and can be run from a laptop via Thunderbolt 3. Earlier generations included the Compact Scan 2M.

When buying used, the main question is which generation and which camera frames with lenses and calibration objects are offered; a sensor without frames is of limited use. Check transport case, tripod, cables and laser pointers for damage. ZEISS specifies an operating temperature of 5 to 40 °C. Licence, dongle and version of ZEISS INSPECT Optical 3D determine which evaluations are possible without extra purchases. For older generations, ask about support in current software versions and calibration service.
