ZEISS ATOS Capsule — Technical data
The ATOS Capsule is a GOM structured light sensor for small to medium-sized parts such as turbine blades, gears or medical products. Its unibody housing is dust-proof and splash-resistant. It was available as Capsule 8M and 12M with two cameras of 8 or 12 megapixels each. Measuring fields range from 70 × 50 mm to 320 × 240 mm at a working distance of 290 mm. It weighs around 7 kg. It was launched in Japan in April 2017 and no longer appears in the current ZEISS portfolio.
The Capsule was also built into measuring cells; one dealer listing shows it in a ScanBox 4105. Check the available measuring volumes with calibration objects, the condition of the protective pane in front of the optics and the operating hours of the blue light source, for which GOM stated a service life of well over 10,000 hours. Operating temperature is limited to 5 to 35 °C. Clarify with ZEISS whether the ATOS Professional or ZEISS INSPECT licence is transferable and which software versions support the sensor. Sensor controller and cables should be included.
